GOLDEN YOGA w/ Sara

Sara is an E-RYT through the Yoga Alliance and has been teaching for nearly a decade.  While her primary focus is Vinyasa (flow), her background is rich in chakra and energy work, prenatal and preschool training, and she is a professional musician.  She believes that mindful movement and sound healing are medicine for the spirit.  Her classes are filled with breath, flow, mantras, and music.  Yoga is much more than just poses on a mat; it is a healing modality that allows us to reconnect with ourselves and each other.   This practice helps us discover how to live holistically and authentically... both on and off the mat.

PERMACULTURE
w/ The Harvest Collective

Permaculture is the practice of creating permanent culture through intelligent ecological and architectural design and technology. A student of permaculture observes and interacts with their environment to build sustainable food systems, reduce waste, adopt clean energy, and collaborate within resilient, dynamic economies. Join us as we overview the principles of permaculture, discuss building community led food growing workers co-operates through composting, water catchment, community agreements to feed vegetable and forest gardens, and more!

Workshop will be facilitated by Davey Rogner, an environmental educator, mobile farmers market manager, trash gypsy, and ecosystem designer from The Harvest Collective, LEAP for Local Food, Pick Up America, and Roanoke County Parks and Recreation.

THE MEDITATION CIRCLE
 w/ Doug Imbrogno

We'll be hosting a meditation session facilitated by one of the founding members of The Meditation Circle of Charleston, Douglas Imbrogno. The group, which hosts two weekly sitting sessions in Charleston and Huntington, W.Va., focuses on breath-centered meditation in the Buddhist tradition of insight meditation, along with loving-friendliness or metta meditation. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to explore the ways the addictive, busy mind keeps us from full awareness of the present moment. For more on breath-centered meditation practice, visit the group's website.

NATURE WALK w/ Spiral Roots Sanctuary

Discover your roots with wild Appalachian plants, and discover the value and power right in your backyard. Tony Petrarca will be facilitating a plant walk that will shed light on the true value of the plant beings with which we share this world.

Tony grew up deep in the Appalachian Mountains where life becomes intertwined with wild edible and medicinal plants. After working at a native plant nursery, Tony decided to start a business with his herbalist partner Ashé. Together they formed Spiral Roots Sanctuary with a mission to spread plant wisdom and empower others to take their health and nutrition into their own hands.
